AUSTIN—The Alliance for Securing and Strengthening the Economy in Texas (ASSET) today released the following statement regarding Gov. Abbott’s plan to gradually reopen Texas’ economy following the coronavirus:
“Employers are deeply concerned about the wellbeing of their communities and protecting the livelihoods of their employees,” ASSET Spokeswoman Annie Spilman said. “As the past few weeks have proven, when small business works, Texas works. Employers of all sizes are eager to reopen their doors as safely and quickly as possible, and have been working around the clock to find ways to serve their communities and protect their employees’ jobs during this crisis. We are grateful to Gov. Abbott for developing a thoughtful plan to restart our state’s economic engine in a safe and strategic manner.”
