ASSET is highlighting the good work of businesses across the Lone Star State that are stepping up to serve their communities and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of our #TXBusinessCares series. Many thanks to ASSET member company Meador Staffing Services for sharing its story.
Meador Staffing Services entered the pandemic with one focus: to keep our employees working safely. Meador has been through multiple disasters in our 52 years in business and has managed navigating each one carefully with employees’ safety and well-being at the top of our list. During this pandemic, Meador immediately assigned a task force to navigate the legal, financial, business operations and employee work.
I am sure many firms have done the same, but I feel that offering our clients to keep our temps at no profit to us was huge, and it paid off with 46 temps being able to keep their current assignment due to the price reduction. We’ve been communicating with the temporary workforce on updates and guidelines from the CDC, EEO, DOL and our company, and communicating our safety plan to clients and assist them with creating plans.
We’ve also been hosting weekly Zoom meetings on pandemic relevant topics like stay-at-home stress management by a leading psychologist who provided free resources, schooling tips from a superintendent and principals trying to help parents juggling schooling and working remotely, and HR coffee time for HR professionals to talk through some challenges and solutions.
