AUSTIN—The Alliance for Securing and Strengthening the Economy in Texas today released the following statement regarding Senate passage of Senate Bills 2485 and 2487, which make certain employment regulations consistent across Texas:
“Consistent employment regulations are a statewide issue affecting statewide competitiveness and need a statewide solution. The Texas Senate took an important first step today to stand on the side of small businesses and jobs by passing Senate Bills 2485 and 2487 to keep some employment regulations consistent across the state,” ASSET Spokeswoman Annie Spilman said. “A patchwork of inconsistent regulations across the state is one of the biggest threats to Texas job creators. We look forward to the Senate passage of Senate Bill 2486 and 2488—two more critical pieces of the puzzle to streamline employment regulations—and to the Texas House taking quick action on these important bills.”
